The Veil Project – Southeastern Cryptid and Anomalous Survey is more than a mapping initiative. It is a living record of the unexplained, created to document, preserve, and better understand the strange encounters reported throughout the Southeastern United States.

At its core, The Veil Project provides a respectful, judgement-free place for individuals to share their experiences. Sightings and encounters are often deeply personal, and many go unreported due to fear of ridicule or dismissal. We believe every account deserves to be heard, documented, and treated with seriousness – regardless of how unusual it may seem.

By collecting firsthand reports and correlating them geographically, The Veil Project aims to identify patterns, hot spots, and recurring phenomena while maintaining the dignity of those who come forward. Whether your experience involves a cryptid, an unexplained creature, anomalous activity, or something that defies easy explanation, this is a place where your story matters.

The veil between the known and the unknown is thin in the Southeast. Our mission is not to sensationalize, but to observe, record and give voice to what lies just beyond it.
